Most Fun Cities in America: St. Louis ranked #19 & Kansas City City ranked #1 Best Soccer City

WalletHub, the personal finance website known for its studies which rank cities from best to worst in a variety of categories, recently released its study “2018’s Most Fun Cities in America”. Overall, 182 different cities made the ranking. Topping the list were Las Vegas, Orlando, and New York City.

Missouri was ranked 14th most fun destination in the USA, St. Louis was ranked 19th in the ‘Most Fun Cities in America’ category. Kansas City, MO was ranked number one best soccer city in the USA.

In order to determine the most fun cities in the U.S., WalletHub compared 182 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across three key dimensions: 1) Entertainment & Recreation  2) Nightlife & Parties and 3) Costs.

Saint Louis came in number 11 in overall costs–this dimension was measured by looking at the average restaurant meal costs, Average fitness clubs costs, and price for a 3-star hotel as well as other measurements. The Entertainment and recreation dimension–where St. Louis ranked 30th and Kansas City ranked 73rd–was measured in part by the number of attractions, presence on Trip Advisor’s Top 25 Parks List, and number of public golf courses per capita. Finally, St. Louis ranked number 17 in Nightlife and Parties while Kansas City ranked 43rd. This dimension was calculated by measurements such as bar accessibility, music venues per capita, and arts and crafts supply stored per capita.
