Can-Am Police-Fire Games 2018

The Lake of the Ozarks hosted the 2018 Can-Am-Police-Fire Games from June 25th to July 1st. There were competitors from 7 countries and 29 US States competing in over 40 sporting events.  Tar-Tar-A Resort was the host hotel, while The Lodge at Old Kinderhook was a sponsor of the event.

The Can-Am Games are a non-profit event which started in 1977 with the mission to promote “physical fitness and camaraderie among emergency and protective services personnel and their agencies.” The six-day event is held every other year and typically has anywhere between 1,000 and 1,500 participants in the various athletic activities.

Past locations include; Regina, Saskatchewan, Milwaukee, Spokane, London, Baton Rouge, St. Cloud, MN. and York, PA., and Thunder Bay, Ontario.  Some of the sports included in the games are Archery, Darts, Skeet, and Crossfit.
