Destination St. Louis, Inc. (DSL), the only full-service, accredited destination management and convention services company in St. Louis, is pleased to announce that Angie Weigel, DMCP, has purchased the company. Destination St. Louis, Inc., develops and implements hundreds of customized events and programs each year for corporate, incentive, and association clients in the St. Louis area and nationally.
After 28 years under original ownership, Angie Weigel, DMCP, President, purchased the company in January 2018 to become only the second owner. Angie joined Destination St. Louis, Inc. founder, Julie Greenspoon, in 1999. With more than 30 years in the industry, Angie has experienced every aspect of the business both operationally and in the planning stages. She started as a Program Coordinator and worked her way up to President in 2015. Born with the passion required, she worked as a teenager on the sightseeing riverboats. During their eighteen years together, Angie and Julie expanded and fine-tuned the business. Never saying ‘no’ to a new challenge, the business and staff grew from a two to a ten-person full-time office with more than 125 on-site staff. Angie is a leader in the local hospitality industry, currently serving on the board of directors of the International Live Events Association (ILEA) St. Louis Chapter as Past President.
