Terri Williams is a dynamic community focused speaker who specializes in a topic that is near and dear to her heart: “Government of the people, for the people, by the people”. She strongly promotes the concept of participatory democracy (in business as well as government), and the importance of civil society/civic engagement. She is a passionate advocate for solving local and national problems and challenges through citizen empowerment. Terri believes that shifting people from “power over” to “power within” is the only way we can positively and sustainably transform our communities, our businesses, and our local, state, and national governments.
Terri served as the Mayor of Webster Groves, Missouri; after her term in office, she was the Executive Director of the Webster Groves/Shrewsbury Area Chamber of Commerce for four years. She was then appointed “Citizens Advocate” for St. Louis County government. Terri is an expert in leadership, emotional intelligence, customer service, and communication. She has worked as a human systems consultant and trainer with Lifework Systems where she has helped “create leaders people want to follow”.
Terri received a BA in Philosophy, and an MA in International Relations – both from Webster University. She was honored to receive the “Distinguished Alumni Award” from Webster U.
