Renovation began in late February and completion is expected in early June in time for summer concert season

Hollywood Casino Hotel in Maryland Heights recently began a $7.3 million renovation of its Sunset Tower, with complete renovation of 273 hotel rooms. The project follows on the heels of the $4.5 million 2016 renovation of the Rodeo Tower’s 211 rooms, including 33 suites, bringing the hotel fully up to date. The renovation is expected to be complete in early June in time for the summer concert season at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre. Local contractor AJ Brown, Inc. is completing the renovations. Hollywood casino worked with Overland Park, Kan. firm Yeager Architecture on the design.

The Sunset Tower remodel includes the following updates in every room:

  • Uprade of two double bed rooms to two queen bed rooms
  • All new furniture (bed, desk, wardrobe, easy chair) and Royal Plush mattresses/box springs
  • New wall coverings, light fixtures, window treatments and artwork featuring iconic St. Louis locations
  • Increased connectivity for charging mobile devices, including headboards with oulets and USB ports
  • Wall-mounted flatscreen TVs with over 80 HD channels
  • Wood look plank flooring
  • Completely remodeled baths featuring walk in showers and barn door entry
  • Relocation of closets to open up entryway
  • Tower corridors updated with new carpet, paint and light fixtures


Each room also provides a coffee/tea maker, bottled water, mini-refrigerator, laptop compatible safe, iron and ironing board, and blackout shades.

Hotel guests at Hollywood Casino Hotel will also enjoy amenities like complimentary Wi-Fi on a new high-speed network, round the clock front desk and valet services, room service, dry cleaning/laundry, on-site ATMs, hypoallergenic bedding and turndown service, fitness center access, valet or garage parking, truck/RV parking and airport shuttle service.

The Sunset Tower renovation is part of an ongoing improvement plan. In 2016, Hollywood Casino spent a total of $11,262,551 on updates and improvements, including the Rodeo Tower renovation, a new poker room, new slot high limit area, new table high limit area, expanded Phat Tai pit and casino grounds infrastructure upgrades. Hollywood Casino offers a total of 1,997 slot machines 63 gaming tables and 20 poker tables.
