Industry Update: Marcus Wehrenberg Theatres to Reveal Completed Renovations at Ronnie’s Cinema

Marcus Wehrenberg Theatres is excited to announce the completion of extensive renovations at Ronnie’s Cinema in St. Louis, Missouri. After months of major construction, every element of the remodeled space will be ready for the public to enjoy on Thursday, November 2 — just in time for the holiday blockbuster season. From the installation of comfortable new DreamLounger- recliner seating in the 19 non-IMAX® auditoriums to three new food and beverage options, these changes solidify Ronnie’s as an ultimate moviegoing destination.

“We are thrilled to reveal this amazing transformation in its totality to the community,” said Rolando Rodriguez, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Marcus Theatres. “More than just cosmetic changes, these enhancements are intended to improve every aspect of the moviegoing experience. Guests can now reserve their tickets online, enjoy a restaurant-quality meal at the movies and relax in premium recliner seating that feels like home, all while enjoying the best of Hollywood on the big screen!”

In-auditorium enhancements:

DreamLounger recliner seating: In every non-IMAX auditorium, patrons enjoy double the legroom between rows along with the ability to go from seated upright to full recline with just the touch of a button. Beyond comfort, DreamLoungers also allow guests to reserve their favorite seats for a convenient, stress-free experience — especially during premium showtimes.

SuperScreen DLX® auditorium
: An oversized screen combined with heated DreamLounger recliners and Dolby® Atmos® sound create the SuperScreen DLX experience. Speakers in the front, back, sides and ceilings of the auditorium immerse guests in the action, making the SuperScreen the preferred way to see new releases. Heated seats can be turned on or off with the push of a button, adding to the comfortable environment.

Food and beverage enhancements:

Take Five Lounge: Upon entering the lobby, guests will be greeted by this casual meal, appetizer and beverage option. The Take Five Lounge is the perfect place to catch-up over food and drinks before the movie or relax after the show. Plus, food and beverages can be brought into auditoriums as the perfect complement to a movie.

Reel Sizzle: Reel Sizzle serves up menu items inspired by classic Hollywood and the iconic diners of the 1950s. Americana fare like burgers, chicken tenders, crinkle cut fries with ‘sizzle seasoning’ and signature shakes are prepared behind the counter for guests to enjoy.

Zaffiro’s Express: Zaffiro’s Express is known for its Thincredible® handmade pizza, but also offers sandwiches, appetizers, desserts and other menu items that can be ordered at the counter for quick pick-up. This concept is inspired by an iconic, award-winning pizzeria in Milwaukee.

To match its growth and expanded capabilities, Ronnie’s is hiring approximately 70 employees. Overall, Marcus Wehrenberg Theatres plans to add approximately 200 jobs to the marketplace through full time and seasonal associates at locations throughout Greater St. Louis, including Chesterfield, Des Peres and O’FallonCinemas. Each of these locations is also undergoing  renovations that will be completed soon.
