David Shipp joins Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau

October 30, 2017

David Shipp joins the Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau team as Marketing Consultant.  Tim Jacobsen, Executive Director, states “Dave has been an asset in the Lake Area community for many years and look forward to his proven success and experience benefiting our membership as he joins our team.”

Dave hails from upstate New York however has always had ties to Missouri as his Grandparents are from St. Charles.  Some of his fondest and funniest memories as a child were driving in a station wagon from upstate New York to St Louis for family gatherings, usually around the holidays.

In 1992 David entered the Police Academy and held positions at the Riverview Gardens Police Department, the Camdenton Police Department, the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, and finishing his Law Enforcement career at the Lake Ozark Police Department.  During his time there he was promoted through the ranks to Sergeant, managing 10 officers.  From there he went on to a management position at Hy-Vee Osage Beach before moving back to New York to be closer to his Mother. While in New York for this stint he managed a Technical Support Department for a large, family owned business.

Since moving back to the Lake in 2015 he has been immersed in the tourism side of our economy working for both Celebration Cruises and Seven Springs Winery.  At both positions he understood the benefit of cross promotion across the board.  David is the Father of three and Grandfather of two.  He values his family time and looks forward to watching the young ones evolve into their best selves.  In his personal time David enjoys spending time outdoors and on the Lake when possible with his family and friends as well as taking advantage of all the hidden treasures Lake of the Ozarks has to offer.
